Location: Manhattan, Kansas

Reports to: U.S. CattleTrace Executive Director

Salary: $45,000 - $65,000

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Organizational Vision

  • Advocate for the further development and implementation of an animal disease traceability system that is recognized as nationally significant to all domestic and foreign markets

 

Administration

  • Support fundraising and financial operations, administrative duties and reporting needs

  • Coordinate producer and stakeholder meetings/events/tradeshows across the country, including the annual U.S. CattleTrace Symposium and the Cattle Industry Convention & NCBA Tradeshow

  • Manage program logistics and support – e.g. data entry, tag shipping

 

Communications

  • Oversee internal and external communications, including social media accounts, the U.S. CattleTrace website and the monthly newsletter

  • Manage media relations

  • Implement marketing and branding strategy

  • Respond to inquiries from media, producers and other organizations, and following up as necessary

 

Database Administration

  • Support the Executive Director in database management  

  • Test the database and provide guidance for improvements to the database management company

 

Industry and Stakeholder Relations

  • Develop and implement the U.S. CattleTrace Ambassador Program

  • Advance initiatives that reflect commitments detailed in the U.S. CattleTrace Vision for the Future

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; related field is strongly preferred

  • Demonstrate outstanding communications skills, including verbally, visually and in writing, across different types of media

  • Ability to articulate a passion for an enhanced disease traceability program to multiple industry stakeholder groups

  • Willingness to travel

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required

  • Proficiency in InDesign or other design software preferred
